Parents Protect Your Children

News:

I’m not sure what scares me more, the fact that we have creeps that prey on young innocent children as if they are pieces of meat or that there are still parents that don’t limit or restrict access to the internet.

Sure I understand that it is hard to monitor all the stuff your children see, but why allow them to have an easy way to the filth on the internet? Today there are so many ways to protect your kids from accessing the crap of the internet on their phones, computers, and even smart TVs. Most if not all internet providers offer parental controls, plus you can also buy WiFi routers that have great firewalls that can filter out sites down to the words that are on the sites. All the cell companies have the same filters, and many phones themselves allow parental controls too.

Trust me when I say that I understand that I know many parents are behind the curve compared to their kids, heck even as a computer tech I had a hard time keeping up with them too. For every change I made, some creep on one of the many video, groups, or even their friends would help find ways around my settings to stop the junk from coming through.

However, I think the biggest issue is that too many parents will either say, “I just can’t figure out how to stop it, so I gave up.” or “My kid is a great kid, I don’t have to worry about him/her, him/her would never go to those type of sight.” or “Why should I try, they will just go to a friends house to see it.” To those that have that logic I have to ask, do you not remember what happened as a kid when you grew up?

I will admit I was a great kid according to my parents. I never swore in front of them, I was always home on time, and other than some grades, I was never a problem. What they didn’t know, was that I drank like a fish in high school, smoked cigars, drove cars at 100+ on mountain roads, and roamed the streets whenever I stayed at friends’ houses. As such, I was allowed to do just about whatever I wanted to. Just like me, your child could be the greatest in front of you, yet hiding a porn addiction, a “special” friend on Snapchat, watching the groomer Jeffery Marsh on TikTok (he repeatedly invites kids to his Parlor page to have private talks about how you screwed up), etc.

But this is probably the most disturbing since he states that “your parents screwed up.” Then goes on to ask for the viewer to go to a third-party private site to chat.
